Terms of Use for Glad

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Glad mobile app (“Glad”, “the app”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using Glad, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Glad for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

2. What Glad is (and is not)

Glad is a personal productivity and accountability app that schedules reminders and generates motivational messages. Glad is not a provider of medical, psychological, financial, legal, or other professional advice. AI-generated messages are for motivation and entertainment and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

3. Subscription and free trial

• Glad is an auto-renewing monthly subscription that provides full access to the app.
• New subscriptions begin with a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your Apple ID is charged for the subscription, and it then renews automatically each period until canceled. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Free trials are available only to users who have not previously used a trial for Glad.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you do not cancel.
• The subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region.
• Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store terms; we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.

4. Notifications

Glad relies on device notifications to deliver reminders. Delivery depends on your device settings, operating system limits, and whether notifications are enabled. We do not guarantee that every reminder will be delivered.

5. Your content

You are responsible for the mission and goal titles you enter. Do not enter unlawful content or sensitive personal information you would not want processed by an AI service (see our Privacy Policy). You retain ownership of the content you create.

6. Advertising and analytics

Glad uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure our advertising and understand app installs and usage. By using Glad, you acknowledge that limited device and app-activity information may be collected and shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising measurement and analytics, as described in our Privacy Policy. On iOS, this occurs only if you allow tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can change your choice at any time in your device settings.

7. Location (optional)

Glad offers an optional feature that uses your device’s approximate location to match the app’s day/night appearance to your local sunrise and sunset. This feature is entirely optional — Glad works fully without it — and you may enable or disable it at any time in your device settings. We use only approximate location, read once, stored on your device, and never transmitted to us or used to track you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to reverse engineer it, disrupt its operation, or use it in violation of applicable law.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Glad is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of Glad.

11. Termination

You may stop using Glad at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue the app, or any feature, at any time.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
